Caleta Tortel … Definitely one of the most beautiful places in Chile, mainly because of the originality and uniqueness of its form of settlement and customs. It is located south of Carretera Austral, in the delta of the Baker River, between fjords and southern archipelagos of Chilean Patagonia.
Today we will travel from Balmaceda Airport to Chile Chico. During the trip we can appreciate a landscape dominated by forests of lenga, coigüe and ñire, vegetation that covers the point of entrance to the National Reserve Cerro Castillo, composed of forests and mountains, highlighting the hill of the same name (2675 m high) and the valley of the Ibáñez River. At dusk we will arrive at Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez, to make a ferry navigation on the General Carrera Lake to reach Chile Chico.

TUESDAY / CHILE CHICO – PUERTO BERTRAND
Breakfast. We will start the trip bordering the entire south bank of General Carrera Lake. During the trip, we will enter the impressive Paso de las Llaves and we will appreciate the magnitude of Campo de Hielo Norte, where the peak of Monte San Valentín stands out, the highest in all of Patagonia. Then, continuing our journey, we will stop at the confluence of the Baker and Neff Rivers, to later arrive at the town of Puerto Bertrand. Accommodation in GREEN BAKER LODGE o Similar.
WEDNESDAY | PUERTO BERTRAND – CALETA TORTEL
Breakfast. We will leave by the Carretera Austral Sur making our way to Caleta Tortel, surprising and beautiful town built on the rocks, whose streets are endless walkways on a dense vegetation and the sea. You can breathe here, the characteristic Cypress aroma of the Güaitecas. Accommodation in CASA BAKER HOTEL o Similar.
THURSDAY | CALETA TORTEL
Breakfast. We will dedicate this day to explore the beautiful footbridges that connect the entire cove. Also, we can make the following optional excursion:
EXCURSION NAVIGATION TO BAKER RIVER DELTA AND ISLAND OF THE DEAD (NOT INCLUDED – Subject to Climatic and Operative Conditions): From Caleta Tortel we will sail by boat through the Delta of the Baker River, to stop at the mythical Island de los Muertos, silent witness of the history of the colonization of Patagonia.

FRIDAY | CALETA TORTEL – PUERTO GUADAL
Breakfast. Transfer by Carretera Austral Sur, heading north. On the way, we will stop in the sector of Los Ñadis, to visit a characteristic chapel built by the famous Father Antonio Ronchi. Then, we will continue our trip to Puerto Guadal on the shores of the turquoise waters of Lake General Carrera, the largest lake in Chile and the second in South America, with an area of 978.12 km².

SATURDAY | PUERTO GUADAL – COYHAIQUE
Breakfast. We will start the trip along the Carretera Austral Sur, bordering General Carrera Lake with its blue waters until we reach the town of Puerto Río Tranquilo. Here we will make a navigation until we meet the wonderful Shrine of Nature Capillas de Mármol, a place of great scenic beauty, where the constant waves of the lake have eroded and polished the limestone, leaving beautiful caverns of capricious shapes and great attractiveness. Afterwards, we will continue our return along the Carretera Austral to the city of Coyhaique.

SUNDAY | COYHAIQUE – AEROPUERTO BALMACEDA
Breakfast. Regular transfer to Balmaceda airport.
Also, during the day we can make the following optional excursion:
GUIDED VISIT TO THE VENTISQUERO PENDANT OF THE QUEULAT PARK: (NOT INCLUDED – Subject to Climatic and Operational Conditions) IMPORTANT: Full day excursion, requires an additional night in Coyhaique) We will leave on a full day excursion to the spectacular Queulat National Park and we will know its attractive Hanging Snowdrift. On the way, inside the park, we will go through a part of the trails of the Enchanted Forest and we will go into the evergreen forest to appreciate the Salto del Padre García. At mid-afternoon, we will arrive at the Puyuhuapi Fjord, one of the arms of the Pacific Ocean that goes into the Patagonian Andes, where little by little the Hanging Snowdrift will show its face. Here, we will enter the path of the lagoon, to appreciate even closer the unique physiognomy of this impressive glacier. Then, we will continue our trip to the town of Puerto Puyuhuapi, a beautiful and small port village, with colorful wooden houses and colorful gardens, faithful testimonies of the history of German colonization. At dusk, we will return to Coyhaique. See here
